Rachel Hughes Biography and Career Life
Rachel is the wife of Pastor Tim Hughes. They are the founders of Gas Street Church, headquartered in Birmingham. Founded in 2015, the ministry’s mission is to equip men and women with the right knowledge of God’s word and to create an environment for people to experience God.
Career
Rachel is a professional Television & Media personality. She hosts her own series of “TBN Presents,” where she teaches powerfully on a series of kingdom principles and godly leadership. She has also worked on the staff team at HTB for several years, and has also worked for the BBC.
Rachel is into a couple of interests though, but she has over the years nurtured her desire to empower young women into taking leadership roles and motivating families to engage in fostering and adopting.
It is Rachel’s desire to see women being empowered by the Holy Spirit, to be confident and to intentionally embrace each season of their lives and enjoy the process of growth. Her goal is to ensure that those under her watch are continually strengthened and grounded by the undiluted word of God; they will stay unaffected by the cultural values that may seek to divert or deplete them.

Rachel made a post to celebrate her friends, who together for 10 years have been together serving the Lord. According to the post, she addressed the popular saying that it is impossible to successfully lead a church with your friends. Here’s what she said:
Some people have said “it’s impossible to lead a church with your friends”. I do get that. It’s not always easy, in fact at times it’s been really challenging; painful even. Having to face up to our(my) own shortcomings are a leader, and as a friend. Having to live with people’s expectations (sometimes fair, sometimes not) that you can’t/don’t live up to.
Having to process criticism (again some fair, some not) from people you love and care about on a regular basis. All these things can, at times, make you want to hide and not give your heart away again… But 10 years into the journey I am so grateful for these dear friends and co-workers in Christ who have been there since the beginning.
They have challenged us and championed us, laughed with us, cried with us, prayed with us, and lead the church with us. Love you guys.
