Pastor Robert Kayanja was born in Masooli, a small village in Central Uganda. His early life was marked by poverty, sickness, and a lack of hope that characterized many parts of Uganda at the time. Yet, from this unlikely background came one of Africa’s most celebrated evangelists.

Robert was considered a “miracle baby.” At birth, doctors had to decide between saving his mother or saving him. Against all odds, God preserved his life. To add to this, he grew up with a severe stutter. Many doubted that God could use such a boy, but his story became a testimony of divine grace.

At the age of 17, Robert Kayanja received the call of God. By 22, he had launched fully into ministry. Starting with nothing but a papyrus reed structure and a congregation of one, he founded the Miracle Centre. Today, he is the Senior Pastor of the 10,500-seat Miracle Centre Cathedral in Kampala, Uganda, one of the largest churches in East Africa.
