Cherubim and Seraphim Higher Institution, Moses Orimolade University Now 80% Complete — To Begin Operations in 2026
The long-awaited dream of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C\&S) Church to establish a higher institution of learning is gradually becoming a reality. According to Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi, Founder of the Love of Christ Generation Church and Chairperson of the C\&S Centenary Anniversary Steering Committee, the proposed Moses Orimolade University in Omu-Aran, Kwara State, is now 80 percent complete and is expected to commence academic operations in 2026.
Mother Ajayi disclosed this during the C\&S Unification Centenary Lecture held in Lagos on Monday, noting that the project represents a monumental stride in the church’s 100-year journey of spiritual, social, and human development.
A Milestone for Human Development
Speaking with passion, Rev. Ajayi emphasized that the institution is not just another university but a strategic tool for character building and moral reorientation.
“The university is a milestone achievement of the Church that affirms its human development perspective in 100 years. It will mould the characters of future leaders, instilling the values and principles that society desperately needs,” she said.
She further explained that with the rising decline in moral values across the country, the University is designed to serve as a buffer against moral decay by raising a new generation of disciplined, value-driven leaders.
Education as a Gospel Tool
Rev. Ajayi also stressed that the establishment of Moses Orimolade University aligns with the C\&S vision to combine spirituality with education.
“The church is setting up institutions and structures to advance its bridge-building in the world. A renewed C\&S inspires the generation and the global community to rediscover its roots and engender true human service,” she stated.
She added that the institution will not only cater to academic excellence but also serve as a breeding ground for future missionaries and evangelists:
“It is in schools that we groom people who can take the gospel back to Europe, the West, and beyond. We need to train bold minds that will preach and evangelise all over the world to correct growing anomalies that pose threats to humanity.”
Mother Ajayi also urged members of the church who are yet to join the C\&S Unification to do so in order to fully participate in and benefit from the opportunities the university will offer.
A Call for Renewal and Global Relevance
Delivering the Centenary lecture titled “Cherubim and Seraphim at 100: Critical Assessment of its Mandate, Impact, and Future Trajectory”, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Bishop Stephen Adegite, described the centenary as a divine testimony of the resilience of African Christianity.
He highlighted the enormous contributions of the C\&S Church in the past century — spiritually, socially, and culturally — while charging the church to embrace renewal for global relevance in the years ahead.
“As the C\&S marks a century, the church must re-emphasise holiness, prophetic witness, and contextual worship, while shedding practices that confuse rather than clarify the gospel,” Adegite noted.
He further advised that investment in theological education, Bible schools, and seminaries will strengthen doctrinal foundations and provide apologetic depth against criticism.
On digital relevance, he pointed out that the church must adapt to the realities of a digital-first generation:
“The next century belongs to the digital generation. To thrive, the church must embrace technology, youth-focused media, and creative evangelism.”
He concluded by urging the C\&S to rekindle the fire of its origins and to speak prophetically to the pressing issues of Nigerian society, such as corruption, poverty, and injustice.
A Call for Unity
The Supreme Head of the C\&S, His Most Eminence, Dr. Prophet Solomon Alao, also addressed the gathering, stating that the lecture was aimed at promoting unity within the church.
“The relevance of this is to open our eyes and to encourage us to forge a united C\&S Church. We cannot agree on all issues, but we must learn to agree on give and take, and rediscover ourselves as one body,” he said.
Looking Ahead
The grand centenary celebration of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church will take place on Tuesday, September 9, at Seraphim Land in Maba, Ogun State.
Moses Orimolade University, which is situated just about 5 kilometers from Landmark University in Omu-Aran, Kwara State, stands as a testament to the church’s century-long commitment to education, spirituality, and human development.
With operations set to begin in 2026, the University is expected to not only expand Nigeria’s educational landscape but also solidify the C\&S mission of raising leaders with integrity, holiness, and global relevance.
